Learning Goals: Understand how to add subtract and simplify rational expressions.

Today I handed back the test from Unit 1.  If you have any questions about your mark or concerns about the rest of this course, please come see me.

For the communication questions here is one possible solution:

I would factor the numerator and the denominator.  Then find the restrictions by excluding all values that would make the denominator zero.  Next I would simplify by cancelling any factors that are in both the numerator and denominator.

Up next we will do more review and have the next unit test on Friday.
