Today we went over some of the homework from yesterday. You should now know how to solve all of the problems on the "Solving Equations" handout.
Here are solutions to a couple of the more tricky question that most people asked about:
Part 2 question (k).
Set each factor equal to zero to get three distinct roots.
Part 2 question (l).
In the first step, multiply each term by 6 to get rid of the denominators:
Now use the quadratic formula to get,
Next we reviewed the exponent laws:
and worked on some examples.
For homework, please work "Reviewing the Exponent Laws" handout, questions #1-8 (eoo), 9, 14, 16
Have a safe weekend!
